About the Quaade Gambit

The Quaade Gambit, named after a Danish amateur who analyzed it in the 1880s, meets 3...g5 with 4. Nc3, leaving the knight to ...g4. After 4...g4 5. Ne5 Qh4+ 6. g3 fxg3 7. Qxg4, greedy play with 7...g2+ 8. Qxh4 gxh1=Q 9. Qh5 favors White. Alternatives include 4...Bg7, 4...Nc6 and 4...d6. John Shaw's 2013 book revived the line.
