Falkbeer Countergambit, Miles Gambit

The Miles Gambit, 3...Bc5, is a rare sideline of the Falkbeer Countergambit. Black neither recaptures on d5 nor pushes ...e4. Instead the bishop goes to the a7–g1 diagonal, aimed at White's loosened kingside, and the e5-pawn stays where it can be taken. White, a pawn up, most often plays 4. Nf3, with 4. Nc3 and 4. fxe5 the main alternatives. The engine gives White a slight edge, though results in online play are nearly even.
