A sharp King's Gambit Declined line in which Black, already two pawns down, plays 4...Bc5 to aim at g1 and keep White's king in the center.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Pickler Gambit
The Pickler Gambit begins when White takes the second pawn of the Nimzowitsch-Marshall Countergambit with 4. dxc6. Black does not recapture and develops with 4...Bc5. Two pawns down, Black relies on a lead in development and the bishop on the a7–g1 diagonal, which stops White from castling kingside until the bishop is driven off or the diagonal is blocked. White's c-pawns are doubled, and the kingside, already loosened by f4, is exposed.
