A rare King's Gambit Declined line in which Black meets 4. Qh5+ with 4...Ke7, keeping material level but leaving the king badly exposed.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Shirazi Line
The Shirazi Line answers 4. Qh5+ by moving the king to e7 instead of blocking with 4...g6. Material stays level, but Black gives up castling and leaves the king on the open e-file. Engines judge the position a large advantage for White and favor 5. Qh4+, 5. d4 or 5. Nf3. In practice 5. d4 is the most common reply and scores very well for White. 5. Bc4 is the second choice and gives Black better practical chances.
