A rare King's Indian Fianchetto line in which White meets ...e5 with 8. b3, preparing a second fianchetto instead of the usual 8. e4.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Double Fianchetto Attack
The Double Fianchetto Attack replaces the customary 8. e4 of the Classical line in the Fianchetto Variation with 8. b3. White prepares to develop the queen's bishop on b2, which keeps the central pawns flexible and reinforces the long dark diagonal. Black most often replies 8...Re8. The main alternatives are 8...exd4 and 8...c6. The line is seldom played, and engines judge the position roughly balanced.
