A King's Indian Classical System line in which White meets ...f5 with 11. g4, contesting the kingside where Black normally builds an attack.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Benko Attack
In the Traditional Line of the Classical System, after 10. f3 f5, the Benko Attack 11. g4 has White take action on the kingside rather than leave that wing to Black's pawn storm. The aim is to blunt ...f5 and keep lines near the white king closed. Black's three main replies are about equally common. 11...fxg4 opens the f-file, 11...f4 locks the kingside, and 11...Nf6 keeps the tension. The line is rarely played, and engines rate it as roughly balanced.
