About the Damiano Gambit

The Damiano Gambit is White's forcing knight sacrifice against the Damiano Defense. After 3...fxe5 4. Qh5+ g6 5. Qxe5+ Qe7 6. Qxh8, White has won the exchange and two pawns. Black's most frequent reply, and the engine's first choice, is 6...Qxe4+, which recovers a pawn with check. The other main tries are 6...Nf6 and 6...Qg7. The engine rates White's advantage as large, and in online games White scores heavily while draws are rare.
