A rare gambit answer to the MacLeod Attack in which Black strikes at e4 with 2...f5, exploiting White's slow second move to open the f-file.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Lasa Gambit
The Lasa Gambit answers the slow 2. c3 with 2...f5, attacking White's e-pawn at once instead of contesting the center with ...d5. The usual reply is to take with 3. exf5, which the engine also prefers. White can also keep the tension with 3. d4 or 3. d3. The engine gives White a slight edge, though Lichess results are close to even and draws are rare.
