Train it in TheoriaAbout the Behting Variation
The Behting Variation arises from the Mayet Attack after 4...Qg5. Black allows the fork 5. Nf7, takes on g2 with tempo, and after 6. Rf1 d5 7. Nxh8 Nf6 abandons the rook, relying on the central pawns on d5 and e4, the open g-file and White's uncastled king. Although White is well ahead in material, the engine slightly favors Black. 8. Bb3 is the usual reply, while the engine prefers 8. Be2, 8. Bxd5 or 8. Bb5+.
