Train it in TheoriaAbout the Myers Spike Attack
The Myers Spike Attack, also known as the Spike Deferred, arises after 1. d3 g6 2. g4, combining the modest Mieses Opening with a Grob-style flank thrust. The g-pawn advance gains kingside space but loosens White's position without contesting the center, and the engine gives Black a slight edge. 2...Bg7 is the overwhelming choice, completing the fianchetto, while the engine also favors 2...d5 and 2...Nc6. The line is rarely played.
