Train it in TheoriaAbout the Exchange Variation
The Exchange Variation of the Neo-Grünfeld arises after 3. g3 Bg7 4. Bg2 d5 5. cxd5 Nxd5, with White's bishop already on g2 bearing on the centralized knight. The most frequent and best-scoring reply is 6. e4, which gains time by driving the knight away. With no knight on c3, Black has no exchange available. 6. Nf3 and 6. Nc3 are quieter alternatives that score worse for White. Engines assess the position as a slight edge for White.
