Owen Defense gambit where Black answers 2. d4 with 2...c5 and, after 3. dxc5, develops with 3...Nc6 instead of recapturing. It is a rare offbeat line.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Hekili-Loa Gambit
The Hekili-Loa Gambit replaces the usual 2...Bb7 with 2...c5, and after 3. dxc5 Black does not recapture but develops with 3...Nc6, leaving a pawn behind. White's extra pawn leaves doubled c-pawns. The most frequent reply, 4. cxb6, undoubles them by capturing on b6, while 4. Be3 and 4. Nf3 are seen less often. Engines give White a clear advantage. Results in the small sample of online games are fairly close.
