Train it in TheoriaAbout the Furman Variation
The Queen's Gambit Accepted: Furman Variation arises when White answers 6. O-O a6 with 7. dxc5, giving up the central tension and heading for an early queen exchange. After 7...Bxc5 the pawn structure is symmetrical, with open c- and d-files, and 8. Qxd8+ is chosen in the large majority of games, leading to a queenless middlegame. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced, and Black scores slightly better in the online sample. Some sources attach Semyon Furman's name to 6. Qe2 instead.
