Anderssen Counterattack, Goteborg System

The Goteborg System is White's developing answer to the Anderssen Counterattack. Instead of taking a pawn with 5. dxe5, White plays 5. Nf3 and leaves Black to resolve the central tension. The most common reply is 5...exd4, which opens the e-file. In the Collijn Variation, 5...Bg4 pins the knight and adds pressure on d4. Black also plays 5...e4 and 5...Bb4. The engine assesses White as clearly better, and White scores well in practice.
