About the Modern Variation

Black here develops with 4...Nf6 before ...c6. After 5. Bc4 c6 6. Nge2 Bf5 7. Bf4 the queen is attacked on d6 and moves to b4, where it hits both the c4-bishop and the b2-pawn. White usually answers 8. Bb3, which is also the engine's first choice, with 8. Bd3 and 8. b3 the other engine options. The engine gives White a slight edge, although Black has scored well in the small sample of online games.
