Train it in TheoriaAbout the Napoleon Gambit
The Napoleon Gambit is White's alternative to the standard recapture in the Lolli Variation of the Scotch Game. After 3...Nxd4 4. Nxd4 exd4, White does not centralize the queen with 5. Qxd4. Instead 5. Bc4 leaves Black a pawn up and develops toward f7. The engine still gives White a slight edge. The gambit is rarely played. The most common replies are 5...c5 and 5...Bc5, 5...d6 has scored well for Black, and the engine prefers 5...Nf6.
