About the Breyer Variation

The Breyer Variation, 7...Ng4, attacks the bishop on e3 and aims to trade pieces, the usual remedy for the lack of space that the Maróczy Bind imposes on Black. White most often answers 8. Qxg4, capturing the knight. 8. Nxc6 is the main alternative, though Black has scored well against it. The engine gives White a slight edge, while practical results are close to even.
