Quiet line against the Sicilian Dragon in which White answers 5...g6 with 6. g3, fianchettoing the king's bishop and castling short instead of storming.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Fianchetto Variation
With 6. g3 White meets the Dragon by preparing Bg2 and O-O, setting a bishop of his own on the long light-square diagonal behind the e4-pawn and declining the opposite-side castling of the Yugoslav Attack. The play is calmer and more positional. Black nearly always continues 6...Bg7, with 6...Nc6 a distant second. The engine considers the position balanced, and results in online games are fairly even.
