A Sicilian gambit in which White answers the attack on e4 with 5. Bc4, leaving the pawn en prise to aim the bishop at f7 for tactical play.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Ginsberg Gambit
The Ginsberg Gambit, 5. Bc4, ignores the attack on e4 and develops the bishop toward f7 instead of defending with 5. Nc3. After 5...Nxe4 White aims for Qh5, and a different order, 6. Bxf7+ Kxf7 7. Qh5+ Kg8 8. Qd5+, regains the knight while leaving Black's king uncastled. Black accepts the pawn about as often as playing 5...a6, with 5...e6 next. The engine rates the position as level, and Black scores slightly better.
