Train it in TheoriaAbout the Chandler Variation
The Chandler Variation arises from the central line of the Carlsbad Variation: 9. Bg5 cxd4 10. Nxd4 h6 11. Be3 Re8 12. Rc1 Be6. Once the bishop has been driven back to e3, White puts a rook on the open c-file. Black completes development with the light-squared bishop on e6, where it guards the isolated d5-pawn against the g2-bishop. The play is a typical isolani struggle, with White's piece pressure on d5 set against Black's active pieces.
