About the Dubov Tarrasch

The Dubov Tarrasch, also known as the Dubov Variation, departs from the Classical Variation with 7...cxd4 8. Nxd4 Bc5. The bishop develops actively on c5, striking at the centralized knight, instead of going to e7. Long neglected, the line was revived at elite level in the 2010s, chiefly by Daniil Dubov. White usually answers 9. Nb3, gaining time on the bishop, while 9. Nxc6 and 9. Be3 are the main alternatives. The engine considers the position roughly balanced.
