About the Borg Variation

The Borg Variation meets the retreat 3. Bf4 with 3...g5, harassing the bishop again in the manner of 3...g5 against the Edge Variation. The thrust is regarded as dubious. It loosens Black's kingside and lets the bishop settle on e5. That move, 4. Be5, is the most frequent reply and scores well for White, ahead of 4. Bc1 and 4. Bg3, after which results are closer. The engine gives White a slight edge.
