About the Poisoned Pawn Variation

After 2...c5 3. d5 Qb6, White ignores the threat to b2 and develops with 4. Nc3, leaving the pawn to be taken. Accepting with 4...Qxb2 is by far the most common reply and gives White a lead in development and chances to harass the stray queen. The line 4...Qxb2 5. Bd2 Qb6 is called the Chepukaitis Gambit. The engine gives White a slight edge. The quieter 4...d6 is played less often but has scored well for Black.
