Train it in TheoriaAbout the Steiner Gambit
The Steiner Gambit arises when White meets the Grünfeld Defense with 4. f4, offering the f-pawn to undermine e5 and open the f-file in King's Gambit fashion. The position also comes from the Falkbeer Countergambit by 1. e4 e5 2. f4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Nxe4, the Milner-Barry Variation. Black usually accepts with 4...exf4, and 4...f5 and 4...Nf6 are the main alternatives. The engine slightly prefers Black, who also scores marginally better online.
