About the Reversed Scandinavian

The Reversed Scandinavian arises after 1. Nc3 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Qxd4 Nc6 4. Qa4. White's queen is driven from the center by the knight and settles on a4, much as Black's queen does in the Scandinavian Defense, but with the colors reversed. Black usually continues developing with 4...Nf6, while 4...d6 and 4...Bc5 are the main alternatives. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced, and White scores slightly better in online games.
