About the Bahr Gambit

The Bahr Gambit, 1. f4 e5 2. Nc3, answers From's Gambit by developing the queen's knight rather than capturing on e5, leaving the f4-pawn to be taken. Black accepts with 2...exf4 in about half of games; 2...Nc6 and 2...d6 are the main alternatives, while 2...d5 is classified as the Damhaug Gambit of the Van Geet Opening. The engine slightly favors Black, though White scores marginally better in Lichess games.
