About the Labahn Attack

The Labahn Attack, 2. b4, is an uncommon sideline in which White advances the b-pawn at once to gain queenside space and prepare Bb2 or b5, which strikes at c6, while leaving the queenside loosened. Black almost always answers 2...d5, after which 3. b5 is the Double Gambit. The Polish Variation 2...e5 3. Bb2 is the other named line. Engines give Black a slight edge, and Black scores well.
