About the Long Variation

The Long Variation is the most heavily analyzed path of the Max Lange Attack. After 10. Nc3 Qf5 11. Nce4, White brings the second knight to the center while Black remains a pawn up. The most common reply is 11...O-O-O, which leads to an unbalanced middlegame. 11...Bb6 scores well for Black in practice, while 11...gxf6 scores poorly. 11...Bf8 is the Rubinstein Variation. The engine gives White a slight edge.
