A rare King's Gambit Accepted sideline in which 3. Be2 clears f1 for White's king instead of preventing ...Qh4+; engines clearly favor Black.

About the Tartakower Gambit

3. Be2, also called the Lesser Bishop's Gambit, clears f1 so that White's king can step there after 3...Qh4+. The idea resembles the Bishop's Gambit, but the bishop on e2 puts no pressure on f7. The check is Black's most frequent reply and scores very well in practice. 3...f5 4. exf5 d6 is the Weiss Defense. Engines give Black a clear advantage, and the line is rarely played.
