Train it in TheoriaAbout the Krejcik Gambit
The Krejcik Gambit, 2. g4, offers a pawn to deflect Black's f-pawn from e4 so that White can follow with e4 and a broad center. Accepting with 2...fxg4 is the usual reply. After 3. h3, Black does best with 3...d5, meeting 4. hxg4 with 4...Bxg4. Declining with 2...d5 is also sound, since 3. gxf5 Bxf5 develops the bishop. The engine rates the position as balanced. The gambit is named after the Austrian player Josef Krejcik.
